[/quote] FWIW, some teachers will give the 'y' for above grade level math on a per-quarter basis in 1st and 2nd (not seen it in K but it could happen). My oldest, who was level II for math at the time, got it in 1st for maybe 2 of the 4 quarters. She didn't in 2nd, but I don't think anyone did. My youngest's most recent report card said she got it in 2nd quarter after not getting it in first. Youngest is not level II for math and has not cleared our school bar for advanced math (>90% on iReady math). My middle never got it despite being level II for math. I think teacher just didn't do it. So it varies wildly, which is annoying if you assume it has to have some impact on the level IV committee decisions.[/quote]
