DC seems to throw a lot of money into failed initiatives.

They need to learn more about what did and didn't work from OTHER cities, along with learning from DC's own audits and failures about how well DC can actually execute on these things and what things they need to either improve on, or stop doing and try a different approach altogether.

I also think they need to stop listening to anyone who comes into the conversation justifying away youth crime "because of" systemic racism and oppression (given DC has been black-run for decades), or because the schools don't have enough money (DC spends more per pupil than even many of the wealthiest districts in America - the problem isn't spending, it's inefficiency and misdirection and mismanagement).  Or because of gentrification - I doubt the average teenage carjacker even knows what the word actually even means, and don't even get me started on the people who start talking about the urban renewal projects (which were in the late '50s and early '60s) as if that somehow can ever coherently explain an uptick in crime in the 2020s after 20 years of decline in crime.[/quote]
