Google Analytics changed and it is not as easy to get useful geographic statistics. Moreover, mobile users often show up at a central location where the mobile network connects to the Internet (and mobile users are over half of our users). Due to this point, Virginia is the state with the largest number of users but that probably includes lots of mobile users from DC and MD. So, include DC, VA, and MD as the top region. The next largest numbers of users by state come from New York and California. Those are followed by Florida, Georgia, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

This is considering all users over the last 28 days. What would be more interesting though I don't have good data about it now, is the origin of frequent users as opposed to those who follow a search query, read a few pages, and disappear.

Thanks! I wonder how many out-of-state users started as DMV users.

I also wonder what data the ad people have - average HHI of users by zip codes, just their tracked web behavior, something else?[/quote]
