I clicked on these stories.  I don't understand how these are examples of guns saving lives.  They are simply examples of somebody having a gun when their home was broken into, (amidst other news stories with a conservative focus like "Hotel clerk forces disabled vet to slide down staircase.")  My understanding is that people are asking for an example of where a gun specifically saved a life -- like the gun lovers who are saying that, had they been in the Aurora movie theater, they would have taken down the shooter.  Has there ever been such an incidence -- of a gun carrying person stopping a crime that he came upon?  I'm not talking about someone who fortuitously owned a gun when their house was broken into.  I'm talking about someone saving a life because they had a gun and stopped a mass crime.[/quote]
