Unfortunately, it seems that my daughter will have to face one of these three choices: 1) go to an expensive university she does not like.; 2) go to community college for a year and aim for transferring ASAP; or 3) just work this year and try to do better next cycle. Suggestions?
Sorry to hear about your daughter's situation. I definitely wouldn't do 1. I think 2) CC to transfer sounds like a good option. I wouldn't do 3 as it's hard to keep those academic skills up. Other possibilities: Every year there is also often a list of schools with spots left to fill that you can apply to late. There are also a LOT of schools with a 2/1 application deadline and some with a 2/15--so if she got her act together tonight, she could apply to some more to expand her possibilities: https://blog.prepscholar.com/colleges-with-late-application-deadlines-complete-list Good luck!
