First kid in APS. I know Algebra Intensified taking in 7th is a HS credit. My kid got B+ in first and second quarter. He didn't the teacher this year but doesn't have problem working the hw/ assignments alone or with little help. He caught off guard in the first quarter so he got 89% then he didn't do well in one of the test in second quarter which brought his whole grade down, now he's again got 89% which is B+. I don't think he's struggling per say, once the concepts are explained, he's able to understand it and work through the Delta Math, IXL or whatever hw by himeself. That said, he's hoping to get an A the next 2 quarters, assuming he gets them, what would his final grade be? and do most people choose to keep the grade? or have them retake the class in HS? I'm at a total lost as none of us went to the school system here and he is our first born so not sure what to do. I'm assuming he will be taking Geometry Intensified next year.
The transcript grade is an average of the 4 quarters. APS only shows the final grade on the transcript. You can expunge the grade from the transcript if you want, you don't need to retake the class. However, if you are planning to do that, check with the HS counselor early. I know there was a MS grade my kid wanted to take off but didn't say that until junior year and by then it was too late because they would have had to take an SOL in a different HS class in that subject to get the right number of "verified" credits. I don't know if that was a math class or the 8th grade geography. But, something to be aware of.
