This weekend many HS swimmers have to choose between their HS meet and the PVS meet. Knowing the potential conflicts, why not put the 13 & older kids earlier in the day? Are they intentionally try to discourage HS swimming?
To miss a HS meet for an open meet or a non-invitational club meet is a big no go.
A big no go from who? Top club swimmers routinely prioritize their club meets.
Top club swimmers will prioritize big meets. NCAP Invite, RMSC Holiday, TYR Pro Swim Series and a few other big time meets. But a high level high school swimmer is wasting their time going to January Open. And if you check the results, the high end kids aren’t there as a general rule.
Yep, our entire group was only scheduled Sunday so they could swim HS meets. These are kids who are going for big cuts like NCSA/futures+. They’re probably not going to get them at January open, it’s not a meet to prioritize.
