I am glad you are going to let him have his backpack. It is a big deal to have a "cool" backpack at this age. If you are still in the buying stage I highly recommend Crocodile Creek backpacks. They have them on Amazon. My son got a nice one of a dragon and a knight. The backpack is sturdy and just right for his size. Besides the dragon and knight option, they also have a robot one, and two dinosaur choices. [/quote]
