At our Level IV school, they tracked them into "advanced math" in the 3d or 4th grade. Once you were in, you could be booted out. But you could never be tracked in at that point. No matter your grades, test scores, etc. My DD should have been tracked in by 5th grade and wasn't. She went on to all Honors and now AP math in high school. [/quote]
