They would make their kids help and the playroom would be cleaner than it was when they arrived - they wouldn't necessarily put things in their designated spaces, but I learned to be okay. The mess in the meantime sort of bothered me, but over the years I learned to live with it during their stay.

OTOH I am the guest who keeps our space even more tidy than I would have it at home. That is how I am in a hotel room as well. (which is one difference between my DH and me) But everyone is not like that. [/quote]
