My child wants to take the world languages requirement at MC next year instead of his local high school. Will he still have 7 periods at the high school or 6 since he will be taking one class at MC?
He can do either. If he is taking the class after school hours, he can technically keep all 7 classes. If he wants to take 1 off, it is ok as well. He just needs to discuss with his counselor. He does not need to wait until his junior or senior to do dual enrollment. He can start taking classes his freshman years. He may be limited to the type of classes he can take due to his schedule. Classes at MC are offered via distance learning and remote as well. I would encourage you to contact the DEPA (Dual Enrollment Program Assistant) at your school.
