I've had my vitamix for almost a decade now, and it's still a tank. We've used it for soymilk/asst. nutmilks, soups, smoothies, dough, grinding oats/nuts to make flour/meal, blending old soap bits and crayons for crafts... Beast of a thing, and worth every penny. But PP who said you should have a food processor and immersion (stick) blender too is right on. All three make for a really functional kitchen.[/quote]
