My kid was dealing with some extra stresses when they did the testing and just didn’t answer the majority of the COGAT questions. There is a “skip question” option. The school has proctors who try to notice if a kid is doing this but they missed my kid so they won’t retest even though the answers show they she just skipped most questions to go to the next screen.

The extra stress was my child missed a couple days of school and then when she returned a child she considered a friend kept telling her she was so behind because of the missed days and needs to repeat second grade as a result. My  child believes this other child.  It has been two months now and my child still asks me when I think she’ll catch up and if she can repeat 2nd grade because this other child keeps telling her she is still so far behind. I’ve talked to the teacher who tells me my child is not at all behind.[/quote]
