OP here, your comment is so not necessary. Just trying to have a positive happy conversation while I'm planning my son's 1st birthday. He is turning one, not five. I'm not saying he'll never have sugar, but I would prefer to keep refined sugars and other crap away from him for now. Thanks.[/quote]

Ok fine. I got carried away with the irony that it is actually a cake we're talking about. But the no sugar thing seems so arbitrary to me and a means to one up other mothers. I also find zero sugar tolerance silly because it's not sustainable and everything in moderation...

To compensate for my snark, I suggest making your own cake. Try something like a banana bread recipe with a lower sugar buttercream frosting. [/quote]
