I can't seem to lose weight in my 40's, it's so frustrating. How does everyone do it? I know someone who gained a lot of weight for pregnancy and then on FB the other day she posted a pic about 8-12 months later and she is looking thin as a pin. How did she do it? Help me!!
Whole food plant exclusive diet. The foods are highly nutritious but low calorie. The fiber will fill you up before you have a chance to overeat.
On plant based, due to low protein and nutritional gaps (B-12, etc.), I was ravenous all the time. The excessive fiber caused symptoms that mimicked IBS which was horrible. I did much better on an omni whole foods diet, aiming for 30g+ of single ingredient protein per meal - eggs, fish, beef, poultry, lamb, etc. plus some veg, non-tropical fruit, etc. Humans are not like herbivores with multiple stomachs to digest huge quantities of cellulose. Especially as we age we need a good quantity of bioavailable protein to build and protect bones and muscles. Muscle mass is key to preventing diabetes and lowering Alzheimer's risk. https://www.foodnavigator.com/Article/2023/12/22/Muscle-protein-synthesis-more-successful-with-beef-than-plant-based-protein-in-older-people-study-finds
