(We switched policies) anything I can do?[/quote] when you change enrollment you have to put a start date/end date for the previous policy you were under and then the insurances coordinate benefits if you are double-covered. there should not be a period when you dont have coverage-why would the insurance start 1/14? also fed HR- IME- is AWFUL with changes. they may be great for new employees but they were a disaster when my husband switched agencies and we got married before he started at the new agency. they literally took his benefits set up from march or april and just transferred it, even though we got married in may and that was a qualifying event where we changed coverage. it took months to even it and get reimbursed because they were taking out premiums but he didnt have coverage.
