It is hard to know without knowing the actual size of the cookies, the appetites of the family, other dessert or food plans, and the ages of the kids. My 14 year old going through a growth spurt will easily eat 70 cookies on his own. I wouldn't want to eat more than 17 cookies in 4 days.
Yeah, I get you, that's why I'm waffling. Any of us could probably eat 70 of these in 4 days on our own (they are probably a teaspoon of dough each, though some are loaded with sprinkles). But we're also doing scones tomorrow morning and coffee cake Christmas morning, plus chocolates in everyones stocking, so we're not really hurting for sweets. I'll probably make a full batch and freeze half. I feel like these keep pretty well but I think mentally not having 140 of these sitting around will prevent us from eating them by the handful, which is really not necessary with butter cookies.
