I’ve had versed before and have had different levels of amnesia from almost none to full amnesia. I can see it being unsettling if you didn’t expect it. But the propophol causes amnesia to some degree too in many people.
Thank you for sharing. Oh I wish they had mentioned this. It's quite jarring and I can't shake this uncomfortable feeling. But trying not to stress because I want this to work. Last time I had prop I certainly didn't remember anything from falling asleep to waking up but I remembered everything leading up to it even conversions being had as I fell asleep. I'm just bummed this wasn't discussed. I honestly have no idea why I was even given it. I wasn't anxious prior to the procedure. I wish I remembered my talks with my doctor I hate to reach out and ask her to review what happened with me but I'm not sure anything else will make me feel better
Yeah I'd just shoot her a note in the portal and ask her if she can review how the procedure went (I'm not familiar with that procedure, sorry) since you have some amnesia and don't remember what she said to you during. That's a pretty normal request I think. If you have to have this (or any) procedure again be sure to ask what they are giving you if they come to give you something in pre op because different centers/doctors sometimes have different routines. You can always decline and say you don't like how versed makes you feel, or that you aren't anxious and don't need anything. They'll just shrug and return or waste the med, they don't care.
