so a couple years ago my daughter wanted to do it at IFTA (summer after 8th grade)--turns out the PE started the week before IFTA started, when we were still on vacation. So she wasn't able to do it--which worked out in the end bc she ended up only doing two weeks of IFTA instead of 4 bc she wasn't having as much fun that year.

Also keep in mind your kid is in camp all day and then still has to do the exercise afterwards and any additional work.

You can simply just NOT sign up for PE when doing course selections in the spring, you don't have to sign up then drop it. Better to pick your desired electives first, then drop one if you change your mind in favor of PE which is offered every period of the day and easier to definitely get into than some electives.

Or be like my kid who then DIDN'T take PE 9 after 8th grade, took PE 10 thru Virtual Virginia after 9th grade to be able to do her drivers ed when eligible, and then took PE 9 after 10th grade. [/quote]
