DS is planning to take some DE classes next year but it is my understanding that these will be semester long courses. So if DS takes two dual enrollment classes would they count as two credits for the GPA calculation?
DE is only included on your transcript and factored into the official GPA if you take the DE classes at the appropriate college. I only know JR. At JR, you can only take DE classes at GW if you want them on your transcript and in the GPA. If you take classes at Georgetown, you will receive a Georgetown transcript, but it will not appear on the official DCPS/JR transcript. If you take the DE at the approved college, then scores count like AP classes. An A would count for 5 points on the GPA. If you take 2 semester-long courses, those would count the same as taking 2 AP courses. One final point...you can only select courses from an approved set of courses. Again for JR, the GW course list seems most extensive (although it is still a small subset of all classes offered at GW).
OP here: Thanks, PP. And it seems that the list of courses listed in the Dual Credit form is different from the ones in the Dual Enrollment offerings. For instance, the courses on Differential Equations and Intro to Analysis at Howard are listed on the Dual Credit form but not on the list of eligible courses in the Dual Enrollment page.
