Most Luxury houseboats aren't really very mobile as they're hooked up to electric and sewer lines, and have no propulsion system. They need a another boat to haul them if you do need to move them.

My sister and family live on one (in Seattle) and several of their neighbors have kids. The kids have plenty of nearby places to play, and they all learned to swim at a very early age. It wouldn't be my choice, but it can be very family friendly.[/quote]
