Here's the quote:
At an outdoor roundtable with some Pennsylvania voters, Romney was offered lemonade and cookies. You can imagine what fresh public-relations havoc this offering wrought. “I’m not sure about these cookies,” Romney said. “Did you make those cookies? You didn’t, did you? No. No. They came from the local 7-Eleven bakery or wherever.”
I am a died-in-the-wool liberal, who wouldn't think of voting for Romney, and who thinks Obama has disappointingly tacked to the center/right. And I could not agree more with Romney. (Yes, he was wrong that they were not mass-produced cookies, but that's beside the point.) I wouldn't eat that crap either, both for health reasons and for taste reasons. Plus, he probably gets offered crap like that 10 times a day on the campaign trail. Is it really necessary to be hypercritical of EVERYTHING a candidate does? Even stuff that has NOTHING to do with his capacity to govern? You really can't find enough real things about which to criticize Romney that fact that he doesn't like cardboard chocolate chip cookies is important? Come on.
