She asked what we were doing for breakfast. I said I would have bagels and cream cheese for everyone. She offered to bring them but then added that her boys would still be hungry and needed more food and she wanted to prepare breakfast for them and I asked her not to since I needed the kitchen space. I told her there is a Starbucks within walking distance if they needed anything else and she got upset at that saying her boys don’t have money for coffee. She was misinterpreting me, the call was getting heated, so we ended it. I just checked in today to see if she was still planning on bringing the bagels and she said no. [/quote]

I get this, OP. But really, I think this is on both of you. Her boys probably need more than bagels. I can't eat just bagels for breakfast because of the high carb content that turns quickly to sugar. And growing boys...??

Do you have a McDonald's nearby for some big breakfasts? Doordash? I get you wanting the kitchen free, but you also have to understand that you can't dictate what others need to eat. Starbucks is expensive.[/quote]
