I have teenagers. They know their own addresses & how to send letters to family members. They know their own phone numbers, and parents’ phone numbers. They know what a check is - they earn them at their part-time jobs, although they have direct deposit to their bank accounts (they did keep their first hard copy cancelled paychecks as mementos).

I will say the one thing they aren’t as familiar with is DVDs. We don’t have a DVD player, we watch all movies on Netflix/etc. Although I promise you, they can find you any movie you’d like to watch in about 20 seconds.

They are in high school & they have part-time jobs during the school year, full-time jobs during the summer. They can make change.

Please don’t believe everything you read on the internet. There is a lot of false info (& scams) out there.

The world has changed very quickly in the last 20 years. Yes, they don’t use DVDs or CDs to watch movies or listen to music - because the world has moved on to new modes of distribution. That’s like asking if they play records or cassette tapes…no, tech has moved on to the next iteration.

But they do know how to work, how to make change, how to treat people well - and above & beyond your generation & mine, they are extremely adaptable to new tech, that is a new talent that this generation owns. [/quote]
