Why do you think it’s all that helpful? By all accounts the first filters AOs apply is to compare against your own school. My DS’s school apparently has “go-to” colleges that seem to really like students from his HS. They routinely take multiple ones even if their GPA is below the 25% mark.
That sounds more like how it works at private high schools. Here we’re talking about a public school system that largely offers identical classes and shares the same grading scale and policies.
I have a kid at BCC and that is what I have noticed too. There are certain schools that like BCC students and they get in with stats that show a "lower" GPA ,really not with tests taken into account, than what is displayed elsewhere online. However, I have also noticed these tend to be SLAC that look at rigor above or equal to GPA and that those students who are accepted to those SLAC might have had very rigorous transcripts with IB and hard AP classes listed. There is a lot still unknown even when looking at Naviance. But this theme of certain schools liking particular outcomes from high schools also applies to public schools, not just private, which has been surprising to me. I am curious where you see the 25 percent GPA info for college acceptances listed? I have found that info hard to come by.
