Even if your child is not affected by Scholastic's censorship, kids in pro-censorship districts will be. That's another queer kid growing up feeling like she's all wrong because she doesn't see herself represented anywhere; kids of color forced to subsist on a diet of white kidlit. It's harmful. I think they only ban books about Black people standing up to racism.  True stories about Black baseball players having to stay at different hotels and Ruby at six years old had to go to school with guards because White people would throw things at her.  The bans on the stories of Black athletes were banned in Florida.  [/quote]
