Most people do a beach area for a portion of the trip, but the beaches aren't particularly close to Arenal or Monteverde, which are also about 4-5 hours' drive apart. Agree with other post. If you are looking for holiday travel accommodations/hotels, then your best bet is to work with a travel agent specializing in CR which will have rooms allotted to them during peak travel times.
