There's a good discussion about the CoHi CVS on Reddit. Lots of speculation that CVS corporate is keeping it open on purpose in such dire shape in order to generate media interest and use it (and a few other locations around the country) as a scapegoat when reporting lackluster quarterly earnings. CVS runs the pharmacy in Target across the street. That is clean, well-stocked, and orderly.
Obviously there’s speculation, people don’t want to face Occam’s Razor that maybe there is an actual problem with theft. But yeah totally let’s anecdotally speculate on a big, evil, insurance-carrying company as being at fault. We can’t point the finger at anyone because it might cause offense. That’s more important than a swift response.
Why is the CVS at the Target across the street is so much better shape? CVS execs literally name-checked the CoHi CVS on a recent earnings call to blame for shrinkage. It's been in dire shape forever, yet corporate keeps it alive and drastically under-staffed for no good reason. I mean, CVS is authorizing news reports like these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kglFnk29Ob4 Anyways, here's a good discussion among the normies who actually use the CVS in CoHi. Lots of suspicion that CVS is using the store to create losses to offset tax liabilities. It's not a terrible presumption. https://www.reddit.com/r/washingtondc/comments/17246rv/i_have_a_conspiracy_theory_about_the_columbia/
It’s all a big conspiracy. I mean you cracked the case. Nothing to see here. Local crime apologists who don’t like accountability or incarceration and will twist themselves into pretzels for their reasoning - 1 vs Corporations - 0
