As far as college admissions go, the practical result will be to help those students from lower SES backgrounds, who often tend to be BIPOC, while curtailing some of the unearned privilege traditionally enjoyed by other students. This change in grading should narrow the achievement gap and college admissions gap from both ends: the top and the bottom.[/quote]
