I think you may be focusing too much on "how he will fare as a college applicant" and not enough on how he will fare as a college student. There are introverts and then there are introverts - it is a continuum, they say. Will your son be able to cope with the dormitory experience? Will he be able to participate in group discussions and group projects? Will he have the social skills to survive (or thrive) in an environment that is very different from home?[/quote]
