Agree that textbooks are a necessity, but MCPS does not believe that to be the case.  MCPS would rather have kids Google random websites to search for answers.  My kid found that incredibly frustrating in MS Science, except for the one year she had a teacher who would basically spoon-feed them the answers.  I recognize that's not ideal, but honestly, I found it a better approach than sending kids off to search for answers on the internet.

The lack of a Spanish textbook also irritates me.  It's just a constant flow of ridiculous MCPS photocopies worksheets.  For the amount of money they spend on making photocopies, they could probably cut a deal with a textbook publisher and at least get some workbooks for all the kids.  [/quote]
