Do a couple shorter runs during the week and a longer one on the weekend, going a little further than the previous weekend. Plan it out so that you're up to 4-5 miles right before the 10K. Then rest for a few days before the run or just do some easy cardio to stay loose. Spinning is also a great complimentary exercise to running and helps with cross training. Can also do the stair climber and some vigorous uphill walking on the treadmill too. All these will help.[/quote]
