Kids (DD and DS) are entering new in MS and HS. Previously they attended private, so I'm sure there's a lot more freedom of dress in the public schools. Any prohbited items other than t-shirts with obscene messages? Are spaghetti straps ok on girl's shirts? Are short shorts okay? Obviously, most of the questions relate to my daughter. Boys' dress are so much easier...
It really depends on the attitude of the principal. I worked in one school where the principal was very adamant that girls should not come to school looking like whores. He had a box of huge sized tee-shirts in his office. When a teacher identified a girl with her butt hanging out of her shorts or midriff showing he would give the girl two choices. Call the mother to bring appropriate clothing to school or to wear the big tee shirt the rest of the day. Never once had an issue with a boy.
Did the fathers at this school not drive?
