I think you mean are categorized as regional rather than national institutions. [b]USNWR I think lists around 300 or so national institutions.[/b] And "regional" doesn't necessarily mean low quality--for instance up until the last year or two James Madison University was categorized as a regional university (it's been recently recharacterized as national). Towson is also considered a regional school in this area. Plenty of parents rightly consider these excellent options.
