I, too, hate this expense but can’t get around it. We buy Fiji water for the following reasons: 1). It flat out tastes better. Some people scoff at the idea that water has a taste, but if you try it, you will 100% see it. 2). It has a higher mineral content and pH than other waters – this has been scientifically documented. Just because all water looks the same does not mean they are all the same – lettuce that has E. coli may look the same as lettuce without E. coli, but certainly they are different. 3). I previously got annoyed with his expense and tried out the reverse osmosis machines at MOM’s. For one, it’s a hassle to carry all your bottles back-and-forth from the supermarket (unlike Fiji, which I get auto-delivered by Amazon). And two, I noticed that the bottles developed a moldy smell when I did this – I question the cleanliness of the MOM’s machines. For all these reasons, I just suck it up and pay for the Fiji water.
You're not the one "sucking it up" when you buy bottled water from Amazon. You're killing the earth and exploiting workers. Also, there are no actual documented (since you're into scientific documentation) benefits to drinking water with a higher pH.
