this time of year! Kid had an injury and was out most of last year. Just is back to playing 100% end of last month. Crushing it again, but looking around it seems of course everyone has full roster. Will teams still let kids come out to be assessed? Will it happen year round? He has several college coaches on the line this summer and needs a team this Fall.
This just occured to you? Receiving major interest from colleges and you're just getting to this now? Sounds like a lot of BS. Where was the kid last year?
I warned you to get out before guys like this weighed in
Ha! +100 I think these posters are always worried someone is going to take their kid's starting spot. OP- happened to us. Coach left mid-season and new Coach that took over didn't know my kid at all. He had never seen him play, didn't know who he was. Kid was out all year and then couldn't make it to ID sessions in spring because still injured. New incoming coach had zero loyalty to the former team and cut everyone so my kid was left without a spot. Though technically my kid wasn't cut because he couldn't attend the sessions, but the sessions were 'required'. The injury took longer than anticipated so by mid-summer team was up to 24 kids already. It worked out for us because not all Clubs are a-holes. A few were willing to at least have him come out to training even though they had full rosters and then he was offered a spot at 2 out of 3. WE actually were lucky because that was a toxic team apparently. Things happen for a reason. Good luck. Glad your kid is back on the field again. Kids will come in late for many reasons--new to the area, injury, etc. It happens. Any Club that is unwilling to see and evaluate a player is not one you want to be at anyway.
