The routes will be posted on the website and sent through summer messaging. Your child just shows up for the am route, but make sure your child knows the route number for the pm bus. The first couple of days are generally a mess- late busses and kids needing to sit in aisles- but don't worry, it generally works itself out within a couple of days. If your child is a freshman, they will have preview day (I forget the official name, but the Thursday before school starts when only 6th and 9th graders attend) which is nice as they can figure out the bus without any other students there.
You’re not locked into a stop or route, so check out the routes for your school and choose the stop that works best for your kid. The runs may be a little off the first week as they work out kinks with traffic and such, so be at the stop a little early, but don’t panic if the bus is late. And don’t worry if they’re later than expected getting home, too. Sometimes things are really screwy the first week or two. It’s definitely worth doing the freshman orientation day. The buses run on the same routes as a normal day, so your kid can test it out ahead of time. And they get their schedules, find their classrooms, etc. without all the upperclassmen crowding the halls.
