I too, would like a safe fenced-in area to take my one year old dog. I took him to a fenced-in off-leash dog park once, and I was traumatized. Never again. This particular dog park was in the Navy Yard (DC). I follow a random IG dog page, and I see how they take the dog to a fenced-in schoolyard field on Saturday mornings to run around and play catch. I wish I had something like that, without other dogs. I'm going to look into the Sniffspot another poster mentioned.
Don't do this, please. That person is a jerk. I know of no school that allows dogs on the grounds, especially off leash. Playgrounds, soccer fields, tracks, tennis courts, etc are not for your dog, even if "off hours." Your options are: 1) dog park, 2) your own yard, or 3) keeping your dog on a short leash (not a retractable one). Or yes perhaps something like sniffspot that is owner approved.
