Adaptive how?
OP here. Kid is autistic and has a fear of putting his face in water.
There is a teacher/coach at KSAC who I've seen giving lessons and some(not all) of the kids I've seen her with are clearly special needs and from an outside observer, she appears to excellent with them. Her name is Wendy and you would need to inquire at the front desk regarding her availability.
OP here. Thanks! Do you know if that was an adaptive lesson or private lessons?
These were private one on one lessons, you inquire at the desk. I don't think these were necessarily "adaptive lessons" per se but I watched her working with kids with special needs and she seemed good at meeting them where they were. I also saw her giving lessons to kids that did appear to need any special needs so the "adaptive" part isn't the only thing she appears to do, just something that she seemed to be good at - engaging, supportive and encouraging - just good "energy". She might also do some of their group classes at KSAC that are available through MoCo rec. dept. but those are all different levels and you sign up for the class/level/day/time, you don't pick the instructor. My DD swims with RMSC so there were plenty of chances for me to observe her over the past couple of years.
