YOU try being a sub. $19 an hour is terribly LOW when you have to do it and find out how hard it is. Subbing should be paid $30 an hour to start, and licensed teachers should be paid $40. And then incentives should be offered on top of that for hard to staff schools, sped, etc. A school without subs might as well shut down for the day.
