My son had one attached for 48-72 hours. It was a deer tick nymph. The area around the tick was red. I removed it, cleaned the area with alcohol and applied antibiotic ointment. I sent the tick for testing and it had no diseases, thankfully. Look out for signs of illness over the next 30 days. Symptoms typically appear within a week, but can take 30 days.[/quote]
