OK, where to start on your rambling post... Do you really think colleges care about what is said on this forum about Landon? It's a big, big world out there. I think the bigger question is you are concerned the homework is "insane" and you refer to some faculty (as students) as "apes" and think that only "jocks and jerks" survive there - its just weird that you would say that then in the next breath say you are considering it for your son. You've obviously been to the school, that's where you need to ask, talk to parents and gain your information. Quite honestly, based on what you are saying about your perceptions of Landon, I don't know why you would be considering Landon. Unless of course you are a troll and just trying to stir up yet another out of control Landon thread.
Ridiculous. I'm not a troll, I'm someone who has the opportunity to send my son there but have legitimate concerns about the schools reputation. I'm not referring to what the forum thinks I'm referring to the negative publicity and how it may affect my child's ability to get into the school of his choice. Landon , based on reputation, is not my first choice but it is the most convenient choice. It could wind up fine-- I know people who have sons in LS and love it. I know neighbors who said their sons became intolerable during their tenure there. I am posting to find out what LANDON parents think of their experience so I can make an informed decision.
Landon parent here... so you call the teachers and kids "apes, jocks and jerks" yet you want your son to be part of our school? In the spirit of trying to be nice, the homework is not "insane" it is rigorous but manageable. The teachers are not apes, they are, for the most part, very good, highly competent and do a great job. All kinds of boys thrive there, not just jocks and jerks. If you send a child to Landon and they turn into a jerk, it is an indictment of your parenting more than of Landon. The college matriculation list can be had for the asking - call admissions - then you can decide for yourself.
