My child had a digestive condition which caused diarrhea right around time we started to potty train. We held off until we figured it out. It took a few months but we picked up where we left off and she jumped back into it. It didn’t take long for her to be fully potty trained after we restarted.
Do this. The thing about potty training is that parents/caregivers need to be fully on board too, and even if he can deal with this issue fine, if it's going to make it significantly harder on you, I'd wait until you can resolve this or make it better. I'm just thinking about how this could work with accidents, or even just the basics of using training potties and needing to empty them. It sounds like a headache that could make it harder for you guys to be the supportive cheerleaders you have to be. I'd wait.
