Teachers are not paid during the summer so there's no reason for them to check work email again until August. Some might but it's certainly not a given. Plus, when outside of the MCPS network, MCPS Outlook requires 2-factor authentication using an authentication app on the teacher's personal phone.
I assume most teachers have ten month contracts - so I guess they are not MCPS employees for two months. What is the start date for those two months? Is it the same for all ten month employees? One year DC was helping a music teacher to wrap things up the week after the last day of school, and the teacher was off after that. Another time DC sent an email to another teacher the day after the last day (professional day/day for grading) and did not hear back as the teacher was gone for the summer.
