No. You lose weight by eating less. The semaglutide slows the emptying of the stomach so you feel fuller longer which then causes you to eat less. When you restrict calories, your body tries to fight that because it thinks you’re starving and works to get you back to its “set point.” The semaglutide helps by working in the brain and bringing that set point down. Delayed gastric emptying is one method of action here, but it also impacts the hormones that send satiety signals to your brain. PP is correct that the weight loss comes from usually severe decrease in caloric intake.
