If the kid has struggles and worked really hard, it might be a celebratory event. But, I would not go all out and buy something expensive. My kids don't have any SN, and they come from an UMC family, so getting straight As in MCPS is not a *huge* deal for my kids. My just graduated senior got straight As in HS, too. We didn't give them anything for that, either. They are pretty self motivated for the straight As. The younger one didn't get straight As this past year, and that's ok, too, but we do expect them to try the best they can.[/quote]
