Does such a service exist?
If you are dangerously overweight a proper physician will assist you with this. If you need to drop ten or twenty pounds, shame on you. People need these medicines. Spend less time keyboarding and go for a walk.
It's NOT just people looking for vanity weight loss that need to access medication this way. Not everyone has access to a proper physician or insurance that will cover weight loss medications. I was dangerously obese and the only way I could afford Ozempic was to order it from Canada. Thankfully I was able to enroll in insurance that covers it now but it can be very hard to get these medicines covered by insurance even if you truly need it. Even if you're diabetic. And not every PCP is willing to send scripts to Canada or issue a paper prescription so often these pill mill telehealth doctors are the only option.
I'm surprised with unwillingness or lack of interest among many PCP to help people lose weight. Most tell you to do weight watchers or keto but don't seem to be up to date with the research on weight loss, unwilling to prescribe a medication for weight loss even though they will prescribe medication for hypertension, elevated cholesterol, etc. which are often a result of being overweight. I had to go out and proactively find a physician who can help me with my weight. The provider doesn't take insurance so I go to one doctor for weight issues and then my PCP who takes insurance for the other medical conditions. My PCP is impressed with I've lost weight, that my blood pressure has come up, and that my labs look so much better than before. So he was willing to prescribe 3-4 meds for the complications of obesity but nothing for the weight. this does not make sense.
