Amboseli was a must for me because I wanted that iconic view of animals in front of Kilimanjaro…which I got! That was my reason for going and it didn’t disappoint, but you cannot guarantee the mountain will be visible.

Masaai Mara was just ok. It’s a huge place and we would go for quite some time before seeing animals, whereas in Amboseli, everywhere you look, there were animals. I preferred Serengeti to the Mara, but that was my experience.

Did not go to Sambura.

Didn’t go to Mombasa but thought about it. Decided against it and went to Zanzibar instead and was happy. Too many negative things about Mombasa steered me away from it, especially because I didn’t want to deal with aggressive hawkers.

One thing though, don’t do too much safari…it gets old after a few days. The roads are horrendous and you will get tired of being bounced around in the vehicle on bumpy roads day after day - and bumpy is an understatement! We did 10 days safari and that was way too much.[/quote]
