I don’t have a kid there and haven’t hear of this but from your own summary it sounds like a kid gave a presentation and thinks the solution to gun violence is arming more citizens.   It’s not s popular opinion around here but some believe that.   I have no idea about gun finger motions and either do you since neither of us were there.

OP just asked for a summary. I wasn’t judging the situation or presentation, except that I think the school’s email did more harm than good since it got people gossiping and asking what happened (hence this post from OP!). That’s my main gripe—these kind of vague emails go out all the time and it just sets off more gossip. The presentation topic doesn’t surprise me or concern me, but I’m in the minority on that.
