I started it Feb. 14, 2012. Today is June 16, 2012. I have lost 52 pounds and am healthier than ever. After the 1st 10 days, my blood pressure became normal and my blood glucose became normal for the first time in years. The first week is the only time it is hard as you get used to way fewer carbs. It sounds strict, but the protein products provide 18 grams of protein and you have them 3 times a day. You eat 4 cups of vegetables and 2 salads a day, which is a lot of food. You plan your own dinner (which includes lean meats or fish) and when you get close to your goal, you start planning your other meals as well. I have learned so much and like you diet and exercise didn't work. I needed to cut out the carbs - even some of the good ones (fruit and grains) in order to lose weight. After the first couple of weeks, your weight loss becomes your motivation to make good choices every day. I lose between 1.5 and 3.5 pounds each week, although during the first month it was much more. If you have struggled all of your life like I have and have metabolic syndrome (obese, high cholesterol, high blood pressure), this is the answer you have been looking for. It's $90 per week, which includes a 1 on 1 coaching session (I wouldn't skip the coaching session if you do this - it is very helpful to check-in with someone each week). I didn't increase my food budget, because I was spending a lot on fast food and starbucks before. I'm only spending grocery money on meat, fish and veggies now. As I get closer to goal, in the next phases, some of the food I haven't been eating will be added back in. Good luck!
